Our Story

My name is Gregory Dubuisson, also known as Yazbthegreat, and I was born and raised on a small island known as Haiti. I moved to Massachusetts in 2009 at the age of 15. I am the owner and designer of the clothing brand called “URBAN PIGEONS” which started in 2012. Growing up, I knew I had a passion for designing and art as I would hand sew clothes for my sister’s dolls. Due to sociopolitical circumstances in Haiti, I didn’t have the resources to further pursue my interest in designing until I moved here. Living in Boston, Massachusetts has enabled me to purse my dreams, as I slowly began creating URBAN PIGEONS.

Urban Pigeons was founded in 2012; from then, it has developed into a diverse team of dedicated individuals who are creative and passionate about design and diversity. Urban Pigeons differentiates itself from other brands by providing distinctive high-end fashion as well as streetwear clothing for those who appreciate music, culture, and creativity. The name “Pigeons” symbolizes all of the major cities like New York, Boston, Chicago and others. These urban areas have been rich in diversity and culture for decades. We will artistically express these attributes to bring new meaning to what streetwear is today.

Our goal is to grow across the nation by having a number of stores in various large cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Miami and more. We plan to elevate our passion for art and diversity to new grounds and compete with some of the top brands on the market. As for our customers, our team is available to provide impeccable service and accommodate to your needs. After all, without you, we will not able to operate and reach our goals. Excellent service is one of the many ways we cater a unique and positive experience for our clients.

As a young designer, I am eager to show my talent and serve my community. My goal is to bring a new flavor to the fashion industry. As my tagline says “BE COMFORTABLE IN WHAT YOU WEAR” I want people of all sizes and shapes to be able to wear affordable, luxury clothing and feel comfortable in their outfit.

Urban Pigeons produces high-end and streetwear garments. We can do it all from t-shirts and scarves to fur coats and dresses. We hold a high standard for our products, and are constantly working on new projects. Urban Pigeons provides tailored services according to the customer’s demand. We also accept special orders if you desire custom pieces that will give you that extra finesse in your look. Handmade accessories are available to compliment our finest garments. Urban Pigeons also creates unique and personalized artwork. We offer acrylic paintings on stretched canvases in all sizes. Along with shipping options for our canvases, customers do have the option to electronically download the artwork straight from www.yazbthegreat.pb.design. We provide services aside from product production, including: sewing classes, modeling courses, opportunities to expand your portfolio, both virtually and in person.

I source my fabrics from different manufacturers and local shops in the US to add variety and to support small businesses like my own. I utilize fabrics from overseas sources including Haiti, Africa, Guadeloupe, Thailand, and Hawaii.  The islands of Haiti and Guadeloupe are well known for their carnival seasons, which are filled with very vivid and rich colors which are a great influence in my style. Whenever I release a collection, either high end fashion or streetwear, I strive to implement traditional elements in my products. For example, I utilize popular words and phrases in my designs such as “Sak Pase” meaning “what’s up “ in Haitian Creole. Not only does this bring social awareness but also brings people together with different cultural backgrounds. 

Urban Pigeons is driven by many forces. Relationships, success, and fashion/creativity drive our business. I am very inspired by my family for showing me that hard work and diligence can help you achieve any goal, I am inspired by other great local designers by their creativity and knowledge about the industry, and I am inspired by my own success because if I had never created Urban Pigeons I would have never had these great experiences. Lastly, I draw inspiration from life around me. Just a simple color or shape can influence my creative process.
